Property rights are not only an elementary basis of individual freedom, but also of societal prosperity. Nevertheless, the importance of secure property rights is systematically underestimated in the public debate. The International Property Rights Index addresses this problem. Since 2007, it has been surveying the situation and development of property rights worldwide, thus drawing attention to this critical fundamental right. The Liberal Institute is the Swiss partner institution of the International Property Rights Index.
